L-carnitine as Supplement

In this video, we’re going to share a supplement called l-carnitine that directly helps his body burn fat.

We’ll let you know if that supplement might also be right for you.

Hi! I’m Dr. Becky, I’m a college instructor of the Science of Nutrition. I’m Dr. Keith, I’m a chiropractor in private practice for the past 26 years and you’re watching Fit Doc’s where we turn weight loss resistance into weight loss results.

I’ve lost 60 2.2 pounds as of today 28 weeks that turns into a little more than two pounds a week over nearly seven months.

Builder of Block Protein

I have actually used some supplementation called L-carnitine. That is an amino acid which is a building block of protein.

L-carnitine is one of the amino acids referred to L carnitine.

L carnitine is a molecule that is vital in the transport of fatty acids from within the cell through the membrane of the mitochondria.

So that they can enter the Krebs cycle and burn for energy right.

Carnitine transferal that pointing transfers hooks onto the fatty acids.

It pulls them into the mitochondria drops muffin and goes back out to pick up some more right.

So so all of your cells in order to utilize energy. They’ve got to take in these fatty acids that are breaking down from your body and then into their into the cell itself.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it speeds up my weight loss but I want to make sure that I’m giving my body my cells all the right substrate.

Everything is there so that I can burn fat efficiently. If there’s a lack of carnitine then obviously your fat burning is going to slow down right.

So it’s just making sure that my engine is going to work properly exactly right.

Red Meat as Source of L-carnitine.

So you can get l-carnitine from your diet. L-carnitine is found pretty richly in red meats.

So taking the L carnitine just kind of ensures me that that I have that substrate available when I need it when my body needs it to burn out.

There’s a lot of people that really don’t eat red meat.

If you’re you know eating a little bit lower calorie to which we typically do as we get older we have fewer collar work needs.

So it might be tough to get all those protein needs in there because we’ve talked about on our low-carb or a ketogenic diet.

It kind of gained popularity among the bodybuilder industry but it can be right for a person who’s in their 50s or above or 40s.

This supplements are currently fat burning diet.
