Bangsilog is short for the combination of bangus (milk fish), sinangag (fried rice) and pritong itlog (fried egg).
This is another popular silog breakfast combination enjoyed by many Filipinos.
It is commonly served with a side dish of fresh tomatoes or cucumber.

Here’s the Ingredient and How to make
Ingredients
- 2 cups of chilled white rice
- 3 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 piece baby boneless bangus (milkfish)
- cooking oil
- 1 egg, cooked sunny side up
Marinade
- 3 cloves of garlic, crushed then peeled
- 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup of soy sauce
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of ground pepper
Instructions
Milkfish
- Marinate the milkfish before frying.
- In a large non-stick pan, heat a small amount of cooking oil over high heat.
- When the oil gets hot, carefully place the milkfish into the pan with meat side facing down in the oil.
- Lower the heat to medium-high then continue to cook the milkfish until it becomes crispy and golden brown.
- When it’s done. carefully remove the fish from the hot oil and set it on some papertowels to absorb the excess oil.
Garlic Fried Rice
- Next, heat a clean frying pan over medium heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil followed by 2 tablespoons of minced garlic.
- Cook the garlic until it begins to turn golden brown.
- Now add the rice to the pan then press it down into the oil and garlic.
- Stir and mix the rice continuously to avoid scorching.
- Cook the rice for about 5-7 minutes or until the rice is hot and well blended.
- Add a little salt to taste then continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Transfer the garlic fried rice to a plate along with the cooked milkfish and a fried egg.
- Prepare some freshly sliced tomatoes as a side dish if you prefer.
